Colleges of the Collaborative
Building on the commitments that led to the development of Peace Studies at each of its church-related colleges, Earlham, Goshen, and Manchester colleges have joined together as the Plowshares Peace Studies Collaborative. The Plowshares Peace Studies Collaborative will strengthen Peace, Justice, and Conflict Studies on member campuses, in Indiana, across the United States and around the world.
Best Undergraduate Peace Studies Programs
The Plowshares Peace Studies Collaborative is comprised of three of the nation’s best undergraduate programs in Peace Studies including its oldest. The colleges of the collaborative, located in Indiana, working together, will develop the strongest, most distinctive undergraduate program in Peace Studies in the United States.
The Plowshares Peace Studies Collaborative will:
- Address, in new ways, the problems of violence and related challenges that confront society today
- Develop a program in peace, justice, and conciliation that is informed by both intellectual reflection and by praxis
It is a collaboration that builds upon the talents, energies, and commitments of our students, faculty, alumni, and friends. In a time when war and violence are so readily used to solve conflict the Collaborative is committed to seeking peaceful and nonviolent alternatives to interpersonal, national, and international conflict and violence.
