Kim Phuc - “Love, Hope and Forgiveness”

On June 8, 1972, nine year old Kim Phuc ran from her napalm bombed village of Trang Bang, screaming from third degree burns to her skin. She is remembered as the “Girl in the Picture” which ultimately changed the way the world looked at the Vietnam War, and all wars. The photograph was transmitted around the world and later won a Pulitzer Prize.

Today Kim Phuc lives in Toronto, Canada where she established the Kim Phuc Foundation whose mission is healing children of war. In 1997 she was named a Goodwill Ambassador for Peace.
